Ken Burns’ newest film examines the near extinction of buffalo and Indigenous people

On Monday, October 16, 2023, PBS premieres the latest documentary from Ken Burns. The film, spanning four hours across two nights, is called “The American Buffalo.” According to the documentary's website, it traces the animal’s evolution, its significance to the Indigenous people, its near extinction, and the efforts to bring the magnificent mammals back from the brink.
