In a recent essay, Boston College professor Aziz Rana wrote that “Trump is … well-situated to attempt a dismantling of the U.S.’s constitutional order.” He notes the president's unique ability to keep other Republicans in line … and Elon Musk’s dedication to tearing down government restraints on business. “This confluence of factors,” Rana writes, “has produced a willingness to push far beyond the typical barriers that have restrained Republicans in the past.”

The essay appeared in the New Left Review under the headline “Constitutional Collapse.” He also had a book published last year called “The Constitutional Bind: How Americans Came to Idolize a Document That Fails Them.” Rana joins the program to discuss what some may refer to as a "constitutional crisis" in our country.
