According to a report by ProPublica, the agency responsible for child protective services, the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, is failing to comply with a federal court order that requires it to provide basic services to children, and parents, in Spanish. That report came out in 2019, and two years later, ProPublica has found that DCFS is still failing to comply with the court order. The 21st was joined by one of the reporters behind the story.
