Flu and RSV cases surging in Illinois
Experts are concerned for two respiratory illnesses on the rise: influenza and respiratory syncytial virus. RSV is of particular concern right now, as cases among children are being diagnosed much earlier than usual, and pediatric hospitals are already feeling overwhelmed with patients. In addition, doctors are on the lookout to see if a new COVID-19 variant develops this winter, which has happened in the previous two winters of the epidemic.
