February 7, 2025: The Trump White House sues Illinois over protections for undocumented immigrants
From WTTW Chicago: The Trump administration Thursday asked a federal judge to invalidate the state, city and county laws designed to protect undocumented immigrants by prohibiting state local law enforcement officials from helping federal agents. The lawsuit names Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart and Chicago Police Supt. Larry Snelling.
