Debate over sex ed in Illinois public schools

In 2021, Governor J.B. Pritzker (D-IL) signed a law making Illinois to become the first state to officially adopt new national sexual education standards. However, the Keep Youth Safe and Healthy Act has raised some eyebrows. Advocates feel like this is a step in the right direction because children should learn early on how to express themselves and their sexuality. But critics say the lessons are too explicit. One group called a Gov. Pritzker 'a groomer' for signing the Act into law.
