Since returning to the White House in January, President Trump and his new Department of Government Efficiency — known as DOGE — have moved quickly to implement major changes across the federal government. Led by billionaire Elon Musk, DOGE has cut thousands of federal jobs, canceled contracts, and targeted programs ranging from weather forecasting to medical research.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration is set to implement major new tariffs on imports starting today — what the president has called “Liberation Day.” The administration also acknowledged Tuesday that it made an error in sending at least one legal resident, a Maryland father, to a notorious prison in El Salvador.
