How Asians In America Face Xenophobia Sparked By Coronavirus Fears
In light of the coronavirus outbreak, people of Asian descent worldwide have faced xenophobia.
Frankie Huang, Beijing American writer and illustrator, worries that people are using the virus as an excuse to be racist.
“We don’t live in the middle ages, we have science, we understand how diseases work,” Huang said.
Jose Vargas, a Chicago artist, organized a restaurant crawl in Chinatown to support the East-Asian community and attempt to combat some of the fear-mongering.
