Alex Coleman/Illinois Newsroom

On the 21st: We're live from the Illinois State Fair! Whether it's agriculture, food, entertainment, and family fun, we've got you covered.

Today we broadcast from Illinois State Fair in Springfield.

We kicked off the hour by talking about this year's fair, and what it means to farmers in Illinois with State Fair Manager Luke Sailer, along with Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Raymond Poe.

Then, we welcomed ten-time hog calling champion Chris Karr, who also works with Ag in the Classroom in Champaign County.

Plus—

There's no shortage of entertainment and food at the Illinois State Fair. Kenda Williams and AnnaRose Anderson are a duo who dabbles in hypnosis and mentalism. They serve up multiple shows a day at the fair, but they made time to demystify their magic. We also sat down with Norman Keene from the award-winning Paulette's Food Service, to ask what makes their turtle funnel cake special.

And—

The fair's 'Looking For Lincoln' exhibit provides plenty of fun and learning for the whole family. Director Sarah Watson, along with Randy Duncan as Mr. Lincoln and broommaker Chris Carter tell us about taking fairgoers back in time.

Then—

The State Fair is also a chance to let people know how they can connect to resources that improve people's lives. Luke Reinhold is a veteran with Dogs That Help, an organization that places therapy dogs with veterans.
