Dave Eggers Explores American Politics In New Satire, ‘The Captain And The Glory’

Over the past two decades, author and journalist Dave Eggers has written more than a dozen books. The Illinois native has tackled a wide range of topics from a critically acclaimed memoir to a dystopian tech saga and his work has received critical acclaim.
Eggers also founded the national tutoring nonprofit 826 Valencia and started the literary magazine and humor website, McSweeney’s.
His latest book is ‘The Captain and the Glory,’ a satire about the American political scene.
Eggers has been attending Trump rallies since 2016 and some of those experiences are reflected in the novel. He joined us from KQED.
