Why Bobcats—Once At Risk—Are Making A Resurgence Across Illinois
1 million of the world’s 8 million plant and animal species are under immediate threat of extinction, at rates possibly hundreds of times faster than historical extinction rates, according to a report from the United Nations. But there’s some good news in Illinois.
Thanks to conservation efforts, bobcats, which were once at risk, have significantly rebounded in recent decades. The Federal Government recently granted Western Illinois University $375 thousand to study the success of this conservation effort.
