On the 21st: Hundreds of people gathered in Aurora yesterday to remember the five people who died in a mass shooting on Friday. Plus, more of our conversations from the nation's capital. We hear from one neurosurgeon who goes to Washington every month to advocate on behalf of her patients, and hear from U of I students who are there for the semester. And, Lawrence Schiller was behind some of the most iconic photos of President Kennedy’s life. He’s curated a new exhibit, featuring JFK, that you can see now at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

Yesterday, a vigil was held in the Chicago suburb of Aurora to honor those who were killed in a mass workplace shooting that happened last Friday. In total, six people are dead, including the gunman. Six police officers were also wounded in the shooting. Reverend Dan Haas led the vigil yesterday.

Beacon News reporters Steve Lord and Megan Jones have been in Aurora this weekend. We speak with them about the how the residents and families are coping and how the assailant obtained his firearm.

Doctors care for their patients, but one neurosurgeon has made it her mission to advocate on behalf of her patients. Her name is Ann Stroink and she goes to Washington every month to talk to lawmakers about healthcare reform. We speak to her about the biggest concerns she has and the best ways to solve them.

And -

Also on the hill are students from the University of Illinois. Most of them in their junior year of school, they are interning with some of our government representatives. We speak with them about what it's like to work and live in D.C.

A new exhibit tracing President John F. Kennedy’s life from his boyhood to his presidency opened this past weekend at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Titled “American Visionary,” it not only features iconic images from JFK’s life, and some rarely seen before, but it puts the President of Camelot in context with our state’s own great president, Lincoln.

We're joined by the director of Communications and Public Affairs from the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Chris Wills. And the curator of the the exhibit, director, photographer and writer, Lawrence Schiller.
